Terms of service

The agreement for the County Cricket app and the public score site at countycricket.app.

Effective 27 September 2026

In short

  • County Cricket is a free scoring tool for grassroots matches. It is not an official scorer, umpire, or tournament authority.
  • You are responsible for the matches you create, the balls you score, and what you post.
  • Only the organiser or the assigned scorer can correct a completed match in the app, up to five published edits.
  • The website is a public, read-only scoreboard. Do not put anything on a scorecard or in a photo that you would not show a stranger.

This summary is a convenience. The full text below is what applies.

County Cricket (“we”, “us”) provides a free scoring app and a public score site. By creating an account, opening the app, or using countycricket.app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1.The service

The app lets you create and score tennis-ball matches (Target, Head to Head, Double header), follow players, post stories, chat with mutual follows, and optionally Go Live to YouTube. The website is a public, read-only scoreboard: live boards, scorecards, Insights, Commentary, Gallery, search, and player or ground pages.

Login, scoring, handoff, chat, stories, and streaming are not available on the website. The app is free. We do not sell subscriptions or in-app products today. If we ever charge, we will publish paid-service terms before we take money.

2.Eligibility and account

  • You must be 13 or older.
  • You sign in with a mobile number you control and an OTP. There is no password stored by us.
  • Do not create an account for someone else without their permission, and do not share OTP codes.
  • You are responsible for matches you create, balls you log, photos and stories you post, and messages you send.
  • Delete the account in Settings → Delete account. That cannot be undone.

3.Match roles

  • The organiser is the person who creates a match. The organiser can assign a scorer and a streamer, transfer either role while the match is live or delayed, delete a match that has not started, and use Edit score.
  • The scorer logs the balls. A match has one scoring seat, so only one phone can change the score at a time.
  • The streamer publishes the video to YouTube. The organiser can always Go Live.
  • Adding someone as a player or crew member with their phone number should be done with their agreement.

4.Scores, edits, and the public board

The scorer’s phone is the source of truth until it syncs. A live board on the website can lag while the scorer is offline. That is expected on weak ground networks.

Display names, avatars, venues, scores, and Gallery photos may appear on countycricket.app for anyone with the link. Do not enter private data you do not want public.

After a completed match, only the organiser or the assigned scorer may Edit score in the app. Changes stay a private draft until they are published, and each match allows up to five published edits. Abandoned and walkover matches cannot be edited that way. We will not change a result by email or from the website.

County Cricket is a scoring tool, not an official scorer, umpire, or tournament authority. Disputes between players are theirs to settle.

6.Your content

You keep ownership of names, photos, stories, and messages you add. You give us a licence to store them and to show public match and profile pages so the product works. You must have the right to post what you upload. We may remove content that is illegal, abusive, or that breaks these terms.

7.Acceptable use

  • Do not impersonate another player, harass, spam, or post illegal content.
  • Do not break into accounts, scrape the site in a way that harms it, or interfere with scoring or sync.
  • Do not resell County Cricket as a paid scoring bureau without our written permission.

8.YouTube Go Live

Go Live is only from the installed app, while the match is live or delayed, and only for the organiser or assigned streamer. You connect your own YouTube channel and must follow YouTube’s terms. The broadcast is public on YouTube while it is live. We do not host the video and we cannot start or stop a stream from the website. End Live from the match. Disconnect the channel in Google account settings when you no longer want County Cricket to use it.

9.Availability

We aim to keep scoring and the public board running, including offline storage on the phone. We do not promise uninterrupted access. Features may change. Draft matches never appear on the website.

10.Our rights

County Cricket, the CC mark, and the site design are ours. You may not copy the product or reuse our marks to suggest we endorse a tournament or shop we do not run.

11.Liability

The service is provided as-is for grassroots cricket. We are not liable for match results, missed or delayed balls, a board that looks stuck, a failed OTP, a YouTube takedown, or anything you publish on YouTube. While the app is free, our total liability for a claim about the service is limited to zero rupees, except where Indian law does not allow that limit.

12.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where a mandatory consumer law gives you another forum.

13.Changes

We may update these terms at countycricket.app/terms and in the app. A new effective date marks the update. Keep using the service after that date and you accept it.
