County Cricket 1.0 is the first official release of the scoring app for India’s tennis-ball county, street, and society cricket. It is built around one idea: the person on the boundary with a phone should never be waiting on the network. Every ball saves on the phone first and syncs the moment data comes back.
Scoring on the boundary
- Three match styles — Target, Head to Head, and Double header — with a hard or soft tennis ball on a turf, cement, or soil pitch.
- Let’s Play sets overs, extra balls, wickets, fielders, the toss, and the chase target before you tap Start scoring.
- A one-handed pad: runs 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, Wd and Nb with an extra-runs sheet, five ways to be out, Undo, and a free hit after every no-ball.
- After 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 you can tap one of eight wagon-wheel zones — or skip it.
- Match Crew lets you name a scorer and a streamer, and hand either job to another phone mid-match.
- Edit score fixes a completed match — draft the fix, preview it, then publish. Up to five published edits, by the organiser or the assigned scorer.
Watching without an account
Anyone can follow a match at countycricket.app — no login, no install. The site lists Live, Future, and Past matches. Each match opens on a hub with Info, Live or Summary, Scorecard, Insights, Commentary, and Gallery, and when the match is on YouTube the video sits under the score. Search finds players, grounds, and locations.
Share links look like countycricket.app/match/… On a phone with the app they open the match in the app; anywhere else they open the same page in the browser.
Beyond scoring
- Follow players and grounds, and get alerts when their matches start and finish.
- Post a 24-hour story with a photo, and chat one to one with people you follow and who follow you back.
- Turn Matches, General, and Chat notifications on or off in Settings.
- Earn 98 badges automatically, climb the Leaderboard for batting and bowling by style, and see your own numbers under Performance.
Go Live to YouTube
From the installed app the organiser or the assigned streamer can publish the phone’s camera to their own YouTube channel at ultra-low latency, with the live score burned into the picture. A second phone can take over streaming without ending the video. The video lives on your channel — County Cricket never hosts it.
What 1.0 leaves out
Teams and tournaments, the iPhone App Store release, wagon-wheel charts, in-app instant replays, changing your phone number yourself, and the fielding badges are not in 1.0. Read What 1.0 leaves out, and what we are working on for the details.
