This walk-through takes about five minutes and ends with a live match you can share. You need the County Cricket app from Google Play and an Indian mobile number that can receive an SMS.
1. Sign in
Enter your 10-digit mobile number. County Cricket sends a one-time code by SMS — there is no password. Type the code and you are in. If you enter the wrong code five times, sign-in pauses for 15 minutes. If you ask for a new code three times, that pauses for 10 minutes, so wait for the SMS before you resend.
2. Set up your profile
The first time, the app asks for your name (3–30 letters), date of birth, city (3–20 letters), and batting and bowling style. A photo, a playing role, and an email are optional. Your phone number and your date of birth are never shown to anyone else — not on public pages and not in the app.
3. Create a match
From Home or My Matches tap +. Pick a style and a side size, then a hard or soft tennis ball, the pitch, the ground, and the players.
- Target — 1 vs 1, 1 vs 2, or 2 vs 2. One innings: chase the target.
- Head to Head — always 1 vs 1. Two innings; the highest individual total wins.
- Double header — 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 2. Two innings; the highest side total wins.
Each player is a 10-digit mobile number and a name. If the number is already on County Cricket the app fills in their name and marks them On County Cricket; otherwise type a name and they play as a guest. Match Crew is optional: enter a registered phone for a scorer and/or a streamer, or leave both blank and do everything yourself.
4. Start now or Schedule
Start now opens Let’s Play, where you set overs, extra balls, wickets, fielders, the toss, and — on Target — the chase target. Defaults are five overs, five wickets, and five fielders. Then tap Start scoring. Schedule saves the fixture under My Matches → Upcoming until you are at the ground.
5. Score
Tap 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 for runs off the bat. Wd and Nb open a sheet for the extra runs. Wicket asks how the batter was out. Undo removes the last ball. If the signal drops, keep going: every ball is saved on the phone and syncs when you reconnect. The Scoring pad guide explains each button.
6. Share and watch
Tap the share icon on the match and send the link. Anyone can open the live board in a browser; people who have the app open it there instead. When the match ends the same link opens the scorecard. If a mistake slipped in, the organiser or the assigned scorer can Edit score — fix it as a draft, then publish.
Permissions are optional
Contacts (find teammates already on the app), Location (suggest your city), Notifications (match alerts), and Camera and Microphone (photos, stories, Go Live) all stay off until you say yes. You can change any of them later in your phone’s settings.
