Why a live score can look stuck

Balls save on the scorer’s phone first. This site updates when the app syncs — not on every tap at the boundary.

County Cricket is offline-first because grounds often have weak data. Every ball, extra, and wicket is stored on the scoring phone. The public board is a read of the last successful sync, not a live wire into the pad.

What you might see

  • The board has not moved for a few minutes — the scorer may be between overs, in a break, or out of range. When they are back online the missing balls appear in order and nothing is lost.
  • A note that the scorer looks offline — the website shows this after about 45 seconds with no update on a live match. It clears on its own.
  • The board is a few seconds ahead of the YouTube video — expected. Video has its own delay.
  • A match is still in Future after its start time — it stays there until scoring starts. See Live, Delayed, Upcoming, Result.

What to try

  1. Reload the page (pull down on a phone) and check your own connection.
  2. Try another browser or a private window to rule out a stuck cache.
  3. If it is still old, ask the scorer to open the app with signal once — the board catches up by itself.

What we cannot do

We cannot take a scoring correction from the website or by email. After a completed match, the organiser or the assigned scorer can use Edit score in the app (draft, then publish, up to five times). If a board never appears at all, the match may not have synced yet — send the match name through Contact us and we will help you find it.
