Chat: who can message you, and what is kept

One-to-one only, and only between people who follow each other. Photos, unsend, and what the app blocks.

Chat in County Cricket is deliberately small. There are no groups, no public rooms, and no messages from strangers. It exists so teammates and opponents can sort out a match without swapping personal numbers.

Who can chat

Two people can message each other only when they follow each other. If either of you unfollows, the thread stops taking new messages until you both follow again. Open chat from the chat icon on Home.

What you can send

  • Text, up to 2,000 characters.
  • Photos. Chat photos are removed after 30 days.
  • You can unsend a message you sent, and hide a message on your own screen.

What is blocked

Messages that look like web links are rejected by the server, and the same goes for links in feedback. It is a simple guard against spam and scams, and it means you cannot paste a link into a chat.

Notifications

You get a lock-screen alert for a new message if Chat notifications are on in Settings → Notifications. A conversation does not appear in the notifications list itself; open the chat icon on Home.
