Following players and grounds

What Follow does, where the lists are, how alerts work, and how following each other unlocks chat.

Following is how County Cricket lets you keep up with people and places without asking anyone to add you. It is one-way: you follow someone, and they do not have to accept.

How to follow

  • A player — open their profile from Search, a scorecard, or a match and tap Follow.
  • A ground — open the ground page and follow it to hear about matches there.
  • In bulk — the Follow tab lists people from your Contacts, your Location, and your Teammates and Opponents so you can follow several at once.

What you get

  • Alerts when a followed player’s or ground’s match starts and when it finishes, if Matches notifications are on.
  • Matches from the people you follow gathered under Connection Matches.
  • Their 24-hour stories on your Home.
  • If they follow you back, you can chat one to one.

The lists

Follow tab → Followers shows who follows you, and Following shows who you follow. Follow lists stay in the app: they are not shown on the website or on your public page.

Unfollowing

Open their profile and tap the follow button again to unfollow. You stop getting their alerts, and if you were chatting, you cannot message each other until you both follow again.
