Let’s Play: overs, wickets, toss, then start

Create picks style and players. Let’s Play is where overs, extra balls, wickets, fielders, the toss, the target, and the opening pair are set.

New Match is the short form: style, side size, ball, pitch, ground, and names. Start now opens Let’s Play. Schedule parks the fixture under My Matches → Upcoming until you are at the ground and ready to start.

What you set

  • Overs — the innings length. The default is five.
  • Extra balls — 0 to 5 balls on top of the overs, so a 5.2 innings is five overs plus two. On Head to Head and Double header you pick which side bowls them: that innings runs 5.2 and the other stays at 5 overs.
  • Max wickets — 1 to 10. The default is five.
  • Fielders — the number of fielders, 1 to 11.
  • Target — on Target only: the runs to chase.
  • The toss — on Head to Head and Double header, who won the toss and whether they chose to bat or bowl decides who bats first. On Target the scorer picks who bats first; the app never assumes a side.
  • The opening batter and bowler.

Then Start scoring

The app will not start until every required value is filled in, and shows what is missing. You cannot change these rules once scoring starts, and the website never edits them.

Match Crew

If you named a scorer or a streamer when you created the match, they get an invite to accept. Leave it blank to do both yourself; you can transfer either role later from Match settings while the match is live or delayed. See Match Crew: who scores and who streams.
